Frequently Asked Questions
IS MY BUSINESS A GOOD FIT TO WORK WITH TEO?
We hope so!
To save hassle and heartache for both of us, the type of client that we can provide the best value to probably looks something like this…
You’re a small business owner.
You’re good at your job, your craft, your trade, your profession.
You spend a lot of time working in your business – on the tools or with your customers – and you like it that way.
Whether you’re flying solo, or you might have another productive team member, you’re currently focussed on getting client work done.
You’re growing and gaining traction in your industry, but you’re not getting there as quickly or as smoothly as you’d like.
Cashflow is tight – you know you need to increase revenue, but you’re flat out fitting everything in the day as it is.
You have a sneaking suspicion that your business isn’t operating as efficiently as it could be, but you just don’t have time to think about it.
You’re constantly running errands or doing simple admin tasks that another person could do.
You wish you had another team member for admin and errands, but you can’t afford it, and you can’t guarantee the hours.
You want another perspective on how you can make your business succeed.
What tasks can I delegate to TEO?
We have made other clients lives easier by taking care of tasks like:
Being a customer’s first point of contact and booking appointments.
Creating and updating customer profiles within Customer Relationship Management software.
Ensuring staff have all required resources available for client appointments. For example, sourcing and ordering parts, going to collect parts, returning incorrect parts, and creating a system to ensure parts required for each job are easily accessible.
Entering accounting information into various systems to ensure smooth invoicing.
Providing invoices and statements to customers, following up overdue accounts and managing payment plans.
Inventory management, including end of financial year and calendar year stocktakes.
Coordinating with bookkeepers, accountants, suppliers, and other professionals.
Payment of bills and reconciling accounts.
Providing regular financial updates to the business owner.
Updating social media, including scheduling posts.
Creating logo graphics and basic websites.
Creating policies and procedures documents, including training manuals.
Creating templates to streamline regular processes.
And of course, tidying filing, both in paper form and digitally.

Does your business need something else? We love learning new skills.
How do I know that TEO really understands what I need?
There’s a reason you’re resonating with the words you've read so far – it’s because we really do get it. We’ve been in business, we've worked too many hours, juggling too many balls, stretched past capacity (& we know that the only way to know where that line is, by the way, is when you cross it.) We’ve seen so many other small business owners experience the crunch. It’s a turning point and can make or break your business.
As we see it, there are two parts to the problem:
You physically do not have time to complete everything in front of you. The billable time seems achievable, but all the other things keep cropping up and you just can’t get to that client project.
Your business growth is stalling, and you’re in the thick of it, so your ability to see what needs to change is hampered.
Here's the thing - and we cannot stress this enough – we believe that the success you’ve experienced to this point is because you’re doing a lot of things well. It’s likely that you know where you’re operationally weak – or you could at least identify the tasks you don’t like doing.
We want to solve this problem with you.
Logically then, there are two parts to the solution:
You need someone else in your business, sharing the load in a very practical way. We’ll work with you, doing whatever we can to free up your time so you can get back to working in your zone of genius.
As the pressure comes off from the daily grind, we’ll start to make suggestions on how the business could improve strategically – finding efficiencies, improving on strengths, and getting the whole operation running really smoothly.
Can TEO do my bookkeeping and payroll?
Yes we can. In Australia, in order to provide bookkeeping and payroll services, the Tax Practitioner's Board requires the service provider to either be a BAS agent, or be supervised by a BAS agent. This means our clients have the peace of mind of knowing that extensive training has gone into doing your books and pay runs correctly, and the figures are checked thoroughly and regularly.
I'm strapped for cash, how will I afford TEO?
The short answer - you'll gain more hours to put into billable work and product creation. Adding costs is fine as long as they also provide the resources you need to add extra revenue.

In addition, we're happy to create a budget for your business. Yes, your accounting package tracks your income and expenses, but have you got money set aside for the expenses you have coming up? You're not just the boss of your business, you're the boss of your bank accounts too.

Perhaps it's less a question of budgeting or time management, and more a question of pricing. When was the last time you reviewed your prices thoroughly? Do you know what your cost to operate really is? We can help you work that out and set your prices so that your customers get great value, and you're able to fund your business profitably.
I'm looking to start a business, can TEO help?
Yes we can. We love when new business babies are born into the world, and we'd love to answer all the questions you have, to help you start this journey well.
