I've operated multiple businesses since gaining my first ABN in 2005, and have been Bookkeeping for small businesses just like yours since 2020.

I am Registered as BAS Agent (Agent #26258157) with the Tax Practitioner's Board, meaning The Experienced Offsider is legally allowed to work with your business in relation to GST and Payroll.

I hold a Bachelor of Business (Finance & Accounting),

I've completed specialist studies to work as a BAS Agent,

and I am a Commissioner for Declarations (Qld).

I'm a certified Xero Adviser, specialising in getting complex cases under control & simplified.

FAQ's

Can you lodge my BAS
[or IAS]?

Sure can!

Karen will need to be your BAS Agent to lodge info to the ATO, which will require a separate agreement - let's chat further about what this means.

Activity Statement work is completed on an hourly rate basis, plus a lodgement fee.

If we've done your ShoeBox Tidy, your file will be ready to go, so it would only be the lodgement fee/s the first time round.

Can you help with Single Touch Payroll?

Yes.

We can audit your payroll set-up to ensure your pay items are correct (ie, set up the way the ATO wants to see them, while complying with FairWork's requirements) and make recommendations if needed.

This is offered at an hourly rate, and hours involved will vary with number of staff, as well as complexity of contracts and Awards.

I have an Admin Person - can you train them [or me]?

Why does this need to be booked in? Can't I just call?

We'll set aside 30-60 minutes for our initial chat - you and I each have work scheduled for other clients and projects, and I believe it's important that we respect each other's time.

I'll ask you some questions about your business and current processes. What it is you do, which programs you use, whether you're working from a paper invoice book or all digital, better times in the week to catch you; things like that.

We'll explain our expectations and deadlines. While we'll take as much off your plate as we can, there will still be items and information we need from you in order to complete the ShoeBox Tidy.

Our preference is to set some communication timeframes before we start, to ensure the Tidy is as painless as possible for you.

Booking a phone call will give each of us a sense of whether we're a good fit to work together.

If we're a match, we'll explain how the next steps will work.
